Scott Whiskers is back – and this time he's lost in space.

Long-time student, cat lover, Trekkie and the galaxy's most reluctant hero: after searching for Mr. Fumbleclaw and the Golden Cat, Scott Whiskers is finally ready for the adventure he has always dreamed of. Too bad he never planned on actually being part of it.

One sci-fi marathon on the couch later, Scott finds himself far from home, surrounded by bizarre aliens, strange planets and a galaxy that seems to know him a little too well. And somewhere out there is someone who looks exactly like him – only meaner.

For his third adventure, Scott returns in a whole new look: every scene, every character and every animation comes in rich, detailed pixel art – a love letter to the golden age of adventure games, with modern smoothness and polish. And everyone has something to say: the game features full voice-over for every line of dialogue.

Scott Whiskers: The Search for the Bad Twin is a humorous, modern point & click adventure in the spirit of the classics. Explore colorful worlds, collect and combine items, talk your way through absurd conversations and solve puzzles that reward logical thinking – and the occasional thought from around the corner.

Development status: The game is still in an early stage of development, so everything you see here is work in progress and may change. A demo is planned for 2027, the full release for 2028.

About the use of AI

We are a tiny team (in fact – it's mostly just me), and to make Scott's third adventure financially possible at all, we rely on AI tools this time: the graphics and some sound effects are AI-generated. BUT – everything that gives the game its soul is made by humans – the concept, story, puzzles, game design, voice-over and music. Every line, every joke and every decision in this game is ours – and the game runs on our own engine, originally built for Scott Whiskers 1 and 2.

Join Scott Whiskers on his new adventure and plunge into a colorful and family-friendly experience in a class of its own! Sun, beach and sea – sunken pirate treasures, mystical Mayan rites, a bubbling volcano – and lots of puzzles and lovable characters make for the vacation of a lifetime!

A small village deep in the Central American jungle is in need of our intrepid vacationer's help. His experience in finding missing pussycats could prove invaluable! After all, Santo Toma's sacred relic – a golden cat – has been shattered by lightning and Scott is racing against time to find its golden twin. Time that the village, now plagued by misfortune and failed harvests, barely has.

Around 50 lovingly drawn, high-resolution locations in 4K ensure a colorful and varied journey. Dive down to sunken pirate ships, explore the claustrophobic cave system of an active volcano and admire the beauty of a long-forgotten, ancient Mayan village.

“Scott Whiskers in: the Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw” is a humorous point'n'click adventure game inspired by the legends of the genre, especially Monkey Island, Broken Sword, Zak McKracken, Maniac Mansion or Runaway – a Road Adventure.

Deep in the Woods

It's a modern, cartoony 2.5D adventure (hand-drawn 2D HD backgrounds and 3D characters) for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic – Windows, macOS, Linux), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, Android TV (e.g. Nvidia Shield TV) and Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator (just kidding… unfortunately Samsung thought the game was too hot for their fridge). With full mouse and keyboard, touch and gamepad support on all supported platforms.

The game's story is about the quest for a missing cat, some more cats, crazy rich people and hard-working people, even more cats, capable and not-so-capable movie businessmen, the joys of experimental vegan food, serious police work, and lots of other crazy stuff.

With “Scott Whiskers in: The Search for Mr. Fumbleclaw”, game designer Axel Friedrich has fulfilled a long-standing dream. He has been working in the games industry for quite a while and has already released several smaller and larger projects with his own company Fancy Factory and some other companies. But nothing as complex as “Scott Whiskers” yet.

Well, story-wise the game contains everything Axel loves and likes. From his love for animals to his love for Star Trek and other nerdy things – it's all in the game. All the things he grew up with in the late 70s and 80s. Yes, he really is that old. In fact, he's SO old that he knows firsthand from the 80s that a C64, a hamster, and a microwave are one hell of a combination. ☠️
